At aged 17, the last thing on most of our minds would be paying off our parents’ mortgage….
Not Cube3’s Andy Evans. At his graduation last weekend, Andy surprised his parents, revealing that he had paid off their mortgage after working for the last five years to save up.
And we could not be more proud.
“My Mum and Dad worked flat out to put food on the table and pay bills. From a really early age, they taught me the power of hard work.’
‘ 5 years ago it all started to get a bit much for them and I thought, ‘there’s more to life than this’. So, I decided I’d pay off their mortgage, to give them a bit of breathing space’
Andy has been with Cube3 since last summer when he originally came on placement as part of his Graphic Design degree at Staffordshire University. He properly impressed the team and joined Cube3 on a permanent basis as Junior Designer working on one of our biggest accounts.
On top of working at Cube3 AND studying for a degree, he has also been filling Stoke-on-Trent with positive street art under the guise of ‘Pro Pig,’ aiming to inspire people in the region. His work attracted quite a bit of attention and he became somewhat of a legend in the local area (not that he’d admit that- Andy’s also ridiculously modest). This culminated in an art exhibition where he sold several pieces of his art work, and could finally pay off the rest of his parents’ mortgage.
News has now spread and his story has also made it onto Lad Bible, The Daily Mail and OK!
What a guy. Trust us, this isn’t the last you’ll be hearing of Andy.
