Saint Patrick’s Day, or the Feast of Saint Patrick (Irish: Lá Fhéile Pádraig, “the Day of the Festival of Patrick”), is a cultural and religious celebration held on 17 March, the traditional death date of Saint Patrick (c. AD 385–461), the foremost patron saint of Ireland.
It’s also a great excuse to drink Guinness, hang out in Irish bars and dance a jig.
But, most importantly, it is the ‘friendliest day of the year’. And, as Manchester is the friendliest city in the world, we think it’s the perfect opportunity to come together for one big celebration.
That’s why we are launching #giveaguinness.
We intend to kick off the biggest round in the country by buying a pint of Guinness for a stranger. They will receive one of our Guinness cards with their free pint and can decide whether to pass on the appreciation by buying the next pint for the next stranger who orders a Guinness.
Thereby passing on the friendliness and feeling all warm inside. Win win.
The list of pubs taking part will be announced on Thursday morning, but in the meantime, keep an eye on @wearecube3 on Twitter and #giveaguinness and get ready to post your free pint of the black stuff, if you’re lucky enough to get one.
Plus, stay tuned to our homepage from Thursday onwards to keep up with our shenanigans this St Patrick’s Day…
